My first cassette release, "Ugly" was a kind of 'greatest hits' collection of my live set at the time. It was the product of a really rich folk music and songwriting scene at the time, which was centred on the Union Theatre and the Acoustic Potluck open stage at the Red Dog Tavern. The recording was done in the wee hours at the Union Theatre by Ian Osborn, who had yet to start Backlash records. The original covers were typed and then photocopied and folded into cassettes.
